Welcome to Year 4!

Welcome to Year 4! We are so excited to work with you this year and are looking forward to all of the amazing learning that we will share together.

This term, Year 4 are diving into an exciting range of topics across the curriculum! In English, we are using A Place Called Perfect as our inspiration for writing — exploring the mysterious world of Violet and uncovering our own creative voices through descriptive writing, character studies, and imaginative storytelling. Our focus genre is formal letters and we are already impressed with the children's first attempts.

In Science, we are learning all about animals (including humans), investigating life cycles, habitats, and the amazing ways living things survive and thrive. Our budding scientists will be asking questions, conducting investigations, and building a deeper understanding of the natural world.

Our Geography lessons are taking us on a journey across the Atlantic to explore the vast and varied landscapes of Canada. From towering mountains to bustling cities and sweeping forests, we’ll be discovering what makes this country unique.

PE this term is all about developing teamwork, coordination, and fitness. We’ll be enjoying the summer sunshine with athletics, learning the skills and rules of rounders and tennis, and challenging ourselves to achieve new personal bests.

It’s set to be a fantastic term full of learning and fun!

P.E
Our PE days this term are Tuesday and Thursday. 

Children should arrive at school wearing their PE kit, which consists of black joggers or shorts, a plain white T-shirt, and a green school jumper. Please ensure they wear trainers suitable for physical activity.

In addition, please send your child to school every day with a water bottle and their reading book.
