Year 1
WELCOME TO YEAR 1
We are looking forward to lots of exciting learning in Year 1 this year. Your teachers are Miss Ali and Miss Judge.
Mrs Hassanjee, Miss Mumford, Miss Edwards and Mrs Choksi also support the learning across both classes.
Our topic this term - All Things Wild
To start off the autumn term in year 1, we will be exploring 'All Things Wild'. This includes exploring the environment around us as we look at the different seasons in science and geography and explore different types of weather around the world. In English, we will be looking at a text from Oliver Jeffers - 'Here we are' and another text by Maurice Sendak - 'Where the Wild Things are'. In maths we will consolidating numbers to 10 and using manipulatives to add and subtract within 10.
PE days
Children must wear P.E. kit to school every Monday and Wednesday for Rosen Class and Butterworth Class.
Children should wear P.E. kit (white t-shirt and black tracksuit or leggings), green jumper if it is cold) on PE days.
Home learning
Home reading books should be brought to school daily. Please listen to your child read every day.
Rosen class - homework books are given out every Thursday, please can these be completed and returned by each following Tuesday.
