Meet your Teachers and Teaching assistants

Mrs Quinn

I am the Early years lead at Widden Primary School and oversee both the nursery and the reception classes.  I have worked at Widden for a very long time and know our diverse and exciting community very well.  I am passionate about giving all children the best start to their education through creative, inspiring and meaningful learning opportunities.

I am really looking forward to meeting all of our new children and welcoming back those from the nursery.

Helen

Hi, I'm Helen and I have been working as a teaching assistant for 17 years across different year groups.  I love working with all aged children but nothing beats Reception!  I have recently come back to work part time in Reception after having my little girl.  I look forward to seeing you all.

Mrs Wathen

I have been teaching since 2006 and have been teaching part time at Widden Primary School since 2017.

I love teaching numeracy and literacy and I especially enjoy teaching early years music.  In my spare time I like baking, running and spending time with my family.

Ayesha

I'm Ayesha, I have worked as a teaching assistant in Reception and have also worked in different year groups supporting children with their learning individually and in small groups.

I have also worked at as an early years worker in a nursery.

Hope to see you all very soon.

Miss Wills

I have been teaching for 3 years. I have always wanted to be a teacher, even when I was young. I always enjoyed helping others learn and grow. I went to the university of Gloucestershire for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. When I am not teaching, I like to travel and explore new places. I cannot wait to spend next year learning and growing with you.

Mrs Duncanson

I have been a teaching assistant at Widden for over 20 years working with children in Reception and Year 1.  I really enjoy helping children develop their learning and watching them grow.  I look forward to seeing you all soon as you start your journey at Widden Primary School.

Preparing for school

Starting school is an exciting step for both you and your child.  With the Covid 19 pandemic you may also be feeling anxious and apprehensive.  All of these feelings are normal and it is important to discuss any worries that you or your child may have.  We will have prepared the classrooms and other learning areas to meet the latest Government guidelines and to keep everyone safe.
